GLP-1 Medications

You may have heard about the legal issues regarding pharmaceutical companies and compounding pharmacies with making GLP-1 medications. Currently the legal complications have interfered with the ability to offer GLP-1 compounded medications to our patients. This causes providers to navigate patient care in a different direction. Silver Creek Natural Medicine will be offering the legally compounded versions of GLP-1 medications that are available, but these may not be the familiar names like Semaglutide and Tirzepatide. There are still compounding pharmacies that will be offering GLP-1 medications, however these medication MUST include relevant and clinical data showing the indication for the medication vs a brand named medication that is currently commercially available. Unfortunately the cost of commercially available GLP-1 medication is not a legally legitimate reason to prescribe a compounded version. We do believe the compounding pharmacies will have other options for GLP-1 medications such as Liraglutide and we will work within the parameters to meet patient needs as best as possible. The expected date to discontinue sales of GLP-1 on 5/22/2025 per FDA guidelines.
